Originally created in 2016, “Mood Motel” is a fully interactive and experiential installation, combining sound, light, and space to evoke the symbolism and potential-charged atmosphere of an anonymous motel room. Constructed with a dynamic combination of physical objects, film sequences, lighting, and multi-layered constructed soundtracks, a viewer's experience of the installation changes as they engage with the physical elements. By evoking the themes of travel, escape, cinematic drama, and self discovery that a motel room engenders, they are invited to explore their own identity and imagine the multiple ways in which they might reinvent themselves.
